Duraflex Lids

Our Recycling Scheme

Best value, best practice. We’ve recycled DuraFlex lids since 2006: damaged lids come back to us, are reprocessed into powder and moulded into new lids.

How a lid is recycled

Step 1

Collection

Scrap lids are loaded at the customer’s site.

Step 2

Reprocessing

The lids are delivered to a reprocessing centre.

Step 3

Shredding

Lids are shredded, and a UV package and pigment are added.

Step 4

Pelletising

The plastic is extruded and formed into pellets.

Step 5

Grinding

The pellets are ground into powder.

Step 6

Back to Chesterfield

Crated recycled powder arrives at our factory.

Step 7

Moulding

The mould is charged with the recycled powder.

Step 8

A new lid

The finished lid is ready to go back into service.

Recycled and proud of it

Recycling keeps damaged lids out of landfill and puts the material back to work. We also offer a recycling reward scheme against damaged lids, so ask us how your old lids can count towards new ones.
